Records of the Michigan military establishment, 1841-1939.

This record group consists of three sets of records relating to the Michigan military establishment. The first set of records is a letter book (1841-1848) which consists of letters out from the Office of Assistant Quartermaster and Subsistence. The letters relate to acquisition of supplies and rations, movement of troops and routine duties of the office. Includes accounts for stores. The second group of records is the order book for Company K, First Michigan Cavalry Regiment (1861-1862). The book consists of regimental orders issued by Joseph T. Copeland and Thorton F. Brodhead, commanding the Company. The orders relate to daily details and duties of troops at Camp Lyon, Camp Rucker, Camp Palmer and Camp Brodhead; appointments; and conduct and discipline of troops. The final set of records are the records of arrivals and departures of men from Camp Grayling (1932-1939), offering name and grade of men, organization served, hour of arrival and departure, and authority.
