ArchivalResource

Chile Files 1969-1982.

The records were created by Milton J. Olson, Secretary for Latin America and the Caribbean. They contain budgets, correspondence, reports, and subject files. Files are designated as IELCH when they are concerned primarily with the Iglesia Evangelical Luterana en Chile. A few of the files were created while Olson was still working under the Board of World Missions before it had been renamed the Division for World Mission and Ecumenism. Three large files under IELCH Subject Files contain the records dealing with Bishop Helmut Frenz, his expulsion from the country, and the controversy and split within the church.
