Photographs of Stach School and student groups, Jackson County, Kan. The school building was removed in 1984 and placed on the Kansas History Center grounds in Topeka, Kan. After restoration, it was reopened in 1989.

The Kansas State Historical Society (KSHS or KHS) was formally organized on 13 December 1875, though previous attempts had been made to found such a society. The Kansas Editors' and Publishers' Association were the driving force for this latest version, and the committee created to form the society appointed Franklin G. Adams as its secretary.
