Guyana Program Files 1960-1972.

The records were created by William E. Cox, Secretary for South America for the United Lutheran Church in America and the Lutheran Church in America from 1961-1970. They have been divided into correspondence, publications, reports, and subject files. The correspondence is primarily that of Cox, to and from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of British Guiana (ELCBG), later known as the Lutheran Church of Guyana (LCG), and the missionaries on the field. Publications are informational pamphlets. Reports are from Cox, from Lyle Schaller, who did a survey of possible work in the Georgetown area, and from a conference of English Speaking Lutherans in the Caribbean and the Americas. Subject files include a set of discussions involving theological training for the West Indies.
