The Jewish Central Information Office was founded by Alfred Wiener, a German Jew who worked for the Central Association of German Citizens of Jewish Faith ( Centralverein deutscher Staatsbürger jüdischen Glaubens ). Congregation Beth-El Zedeck was formed in March 1927 from the merger of two conservative congregations: Beth-El and Congregation Ohev Zedeck.
