The records in this series comprise publications related to India and mission work undertaken in that country. The pamphlets and booklets were created from 1933-1962 and include those published by the United Lutheran Church in America's (ULCA) Board of Foreign Missions, as well as items published by presses located in the ULCA India mission are. The items published by the BFM consist mostly of educational and promotional material designed to educate ULCA members as to the work taking place in India. The material published in the mission field includes educational and promotional material as well, but also includes Silver Jubilee publications, church yearbooks, doctrinal statements, and a set of addresses delivered at an educational retreat. There are also what appears to be material published by organizations not directly related to the ULCA and its mission work in India. These records comprise educational and promotional material pertaining to India, doctrinal statements, essays on Christianity in India, reports from a conference of between Lutherans and Baptists in southern India, and minutes from National Council of Churches (NCC) committee and board meetings. Duplicates were removed.
