Robert tells Markham that the Civic Forum Medal of Honor for Distinguished Public Service will be given to Alexander Graham Bell. President John H Finley of the Uni of the State of NY will presided. Prior years it was awarded to Colonel Goethals and Mr. Edison. They would like Markham to read a commemorative poem. Dr. Bell will be 70 in March.
