This record group consists of mimeographed copies of the official Camp Grayling bulletin for 1952-1966 and 1968, published by Camp Pio office of the 46th Infantry Division and other units of the Michigan National Guard, and a few publications by other units. The record group also includes a 11" x 14" portrait of Major General Ronald McDonald, Adjutant General of Michigan, 1959-1968.

A territorial act passed on August 30, 1805 provided for a territorial militia. Following statehood, Michigan Public Act 57 of 1838 established a state militia. With Public Act 198 of 1893, Michigan officially designated its militia "Michigan National Guard."
