Correspondence, literary manuscripts, and published works of Modarressi. Included are type drafts in English of THE BOOK OF ABSENT PEOPLE (1986) and THE PILGRIM'S RULES OF ETIQUETTE (1989); various translations of these two novels; two manuscripts in Persian of THE VIRGIN OF SOLITUDE, a book not yet published at the time of Modarressi's death; magazine and newspapers articles about Modarressi; and letters to him from family members in Iran. Modarressi wrote in Persian and then translated his novels into English. The English typescripts include holograph revisions, some by Anne Tyler. (98-552).
