Papers, 1876-1928, bulk 1876-1904.

The collection consists primarily of Fairbanks' business and political papers (1876-1904). Included are letter books and correspondence concerning state and national politics, Fairbanks' U.S. Senate office, and legal cases. Correspondence also concerns the 1896 campaign and the Alaska Boundry Dispute. Scrapbooks include material related to Fairbanks' political and legal affairs, and Cornelia Cole Fairbanks' work with the Daughters of the American Revolution. Also included is a diary (1922-1928) kept by Fairbanks' daughter, Adelaide Fairbanks Causey (circa 1875-1961). Visual materials include portrait photographs of Charles and Cornelia Fairbanks, relatives and associates, and homes and events. The albums contain travel photos from various trips taken by the Fairbanks.

Charles Warren Fairbanks (May 11, 1852 – June 4, 1918) was an American politician who served as a senator from Indiana from 1897 to 1905 and the 26th vice president of the United States from 1905 to 1909.
