Commonplace book, ca. 1727.

The author was the Purser aboard the Prince George, which was engaged in trade between Jidda and Bengal. On June 6, 1727, six Englishmen were attacked in a riot; Fullerton was the only survivor. This commonplace book contains a journal which is the only eyewitness account of the event and subsequent negotiations. The book also contains notes about trade in the Far East. Included in the portfolio is a copy of the journal entitled "A brief account of the massacre of the English at Judda," as well as copies of newspaper articles about the event.
