The collection is comprised of six series made up of by-laws, minutes, correspondence, election records, bargaining records, and general files from 1927 and 1941 to 1995. Series I includes by-laws and proposed by-laws, as well as correspondence and publicity material relating to by-law changes; series II includes minutes of both the executive board and the general membership meetings; series III includes correspondence written sporadically as memos and publicity communications to the national and regional offices of the Local; series IV includes election records representing post-1958 election with leaflets, memos, clippings, ballot tallies, and official reports by arbitrators and court-appointed monitors; series V includes bargaining files, agreements and arbitration awards; and series VI includes both correspondence and a wide variety of printed materials illustrating many aspects of local union activity, as well as general subjects related to the industry, or to the interests of individual officers.
