The first account book [Mss A 786 a] concerns "Repairs on real estate in Boston of Wm Donnison consisting of house & shop No 1 Marlborough Street, house & shop No 2 Marlborough Street, house & shop No. 9 Marlborough Street, grocery store on Winter Street & two small houses and land on Grove Street 1790-1833". The second account book [Mss A 786 b] concerns "Rent book from 1796 and repairs of houses and stores". Includes some properties located on Washington Street, all in Boston, Mass.

Donnison, William, 1757?-1834

William Donnison, of Boston, fought in the Revolutionary War and was named aid to Massachusetts Governor Hancock in 1786. In 1788 he became adjutant general of the Massachusetts militia, and in 1797 Governor Samuel Adams appointed him judge of Common Pleas, a post he held for 25 years.
