North Dakota Federation of Women's Clubs Pioneer Mothers Collection, 1929-1953.

Biographical sketches of early female settlers in Dakota Territory. Arranged alphabetically by last name. As part of its Pioneer Mother Project undertaken in 1929, the North Dakota Federation of Women's Clubs collected biographical sketches on women who prior to November 1889 lived in the area of Dakota Territory that is now North Dakota, and who were married at that time. After 1932, when the State Historical Society of North Dakota acquired the Pioneer Mother Project Records, biographies continued to be added until at least 1953. In 1982 three hundred eighty-five photographs were removed from the files and transferred to the photo archives of the SHSND.
