Correspondence, military records, inventories, accounts, estate papers, wills, legal documents, appointments, etc., 1745-1801, pertaining to various members of the Williams family of Deerfield, Massachusetts, particularly Dr. Thomas Williams, his wife Esther, his brother Ephraim Williams, Col. William Williams, and Solomon Williams, along with thier friends, relations in Western Massachusetts, and business and military associates. Much of the material is dated 1755-1756, the period when Thomas, William, and Ephraim Williams were serving with New England troops on military expeditions in the Lake George area of New York during the French and Indian Wars.
