Orderly book, 1777-1778.

Orderly book, dated February 4, 1777 - June 30, 1778, from various places in Long Island; it also contains headquarters orders dated September 29, 1776, authorizing the formation of the brigade and appointing De Lancey brigadier general, as well as brigade orders dated November 23, 1776. Orders deal with courts-martial, uniforms, supplies of clothing, the care of soldiers who have been inoculated, and hygiene in camp; an order dated September 18, 1777 stops the pay of soldiers undergoing treatment for sexually transmitted diseases.
