Orderly book, 1776.

Orderly book, dated July 17, 1776 - August 19, 1776, Fort George. Contains regimental and garrison orders, given by Colonel Ten Eyck and Lieutenant Colonel Peter Gansevoort. Gansevoort was in command of Fort George, Ten Eyck probably commanded the regiment. Includes orders forbidding smallpox inoculation. Apparently kept by James McGee. Copy, "from the original in the N.Y. State Library," 1871.

Officer in the Revolutionary War. Gansevoort commanded Fort Stanwix during it's seige in 1777 and was eventually promoted to brigadier general of the New York State Militia.
