Rechts-Philosophie und Politik [manuscript]. 1819-1820.

Manuscript lecture notes from an unknown student attending Hegel's lectures on the philosophy of right during the winter semester of 1819-1820, Universität zu Berlin. The manuscript is lengthy and written as a sustained narrative, not as collected fragments. The notes provide access to Hegel's lectures during the politically volatile period immediately preceding the publication of his Philosophy of Right in 1821. Shortly before these lectures began, several of Hegel's students were arrested for political reasons and the Prussian government passed the Karlsbad Decrees instituting political censorship.
