Contains the following types of materials: diary / journal; maps / charts. Contains information pertaining to the following war and time periods: Russo-Japanese War. General description of the collection: The Russo-Japanese War papers include two handwritten diaries and a large typescript titled "Personal experiences of Colonel M.M. Macomb during the retreat from Mukden." Part of Macomb's diary is printed in the Russian language. Within that diary are several drawings of material and some maps. The other diary has only a few entries. Diaries written by official U.S. Army observers sent to report on the conflict.
