ArchivalResource

John Howe account book, 1839-1852.

Howe, probably of Griswold, Connecticut, appears to have been a jack-of-all-trades. The entries include the sale of wood, potatoes, butter, veal, corn and eggs. In addition he charged for the use of his oxen and cart and charged individuals for his work, but also sold nails, a grate, bean poles and repaired a whiffletree. The book is written in two hands, one very rough and other obviously trained.

1 volume.
