John Cotton Smith diaries, 1782-1783.

A series of diaries kept by John Cotton Smith while a student at Yale College. One volume is a letter sent to Smith's sister, Elizabeth (MS 53515). Another is labeled "Variety" and contains prose. Three others are labeled "Diary" (vols. 2-4) and contain a record of Smith's daily activities.
