Negative taken of Marion Perry Jr., principal of Merrill High School in Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas. Marion R. Perry, Jr., was born July 11, 1892 in Pine Bluff. He was a graduate of Lincoln University in Pennsylvania; received a Military Science Degree in the U.S. Army and was Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant at Fort Des Moines; and received a law degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Perry practiced law in Pine Bluff and Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, and Indianapolis, Indiana. He served during WWII as a business agent for carpenters and bricklayers at the Pine Bluff Arsenal. He was a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church, Free and Accepted Masons, United Brothers of Friendship, a charter member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity in Arkansas, and served as President of the 20th Century Club. Perry died July 22, 1983 in Pine Bluff.
