Negative taken at of unidentified wedding at Holy Martyrs of Uganda Church in El Dorado, Union County, Arkansas. Bishop John B. Morris established an African American Catholic mission church called Holy Martyrs of Uganda at El Dorado, Union County, Arkansas in 1941. The church was named after, Charles Lwanga, an African Saint who was martyred with twenty-one companions for their Catholic faith in 1886. On June 1, 1941, Father Raymond M. Marmon took over the church and remained the pastor for 11 years. On January 24, 1952, the Franciscan Fathers took over the church. Holy Martyrs of Uganda parish was closed by the Franciscans in about 1967.
