Conservative Club of the University of Colorado : [collection] : 1962-1963.

Contains correspondence, declaration of principles, and other material relating to the Conservative Club of the University of Colorado. The Conservative Club was formed in March of 1962, and published a weekly student conservative newspaper on campus as well as promoted discussion and debate about political issues of concern during the early 1960s. It also published a newsletter, The New Conservative. The Club was initially organized by Stanley Dempsey, later to become a prominent board member of the Colorado Historical Society. At the time of its founding, David l. Jarrett served as Treasurer. The collection was organized by Patrick J. Fraker.

Fred Hellems, who compiled the two-page list of admission and graduation requirements of U.S. universities, was a Canadian who came to the University of Colorado as a Latin professor in 1898. He served as Dean of Arts and Sciences from 1899 until his death in 1929, and also was acting President in 1927-1928.
