Negative taken of Ruth Polk Patterson's family in front of unidentified house including her aunt, Anna Mae Polk Johnson (1886-1968); her mother, Mattie Ann Bullock Polk (b. 1898); Ruth Polk Patterson (b. 1930) holding her son, Kenneth Aaron Patterson (1953- ); her son, Thomas Edward Patterson Jr. (1951- ); her daughter Valerie Ellaine Patterson (1950-1977); and Diane Johnson in front of her aunt, Pearl Polk Murphy (b. 1895). After marrying Thomas Edward Patterson in 1949, Ruth Polk Patterson became a teacher for the Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas school system and wrote a book about her family called "The Seed of Sally Goon'n, a black family of Arkansas, 1833-1953" in 1985.
