At the 1936 Olympics (known as the "Hitler Olympics") in Nazi Germany, Jesse Owens (1913-1980) was the first American in the history of Olympic Track and Field to win four gold medals in a single day. After winning the Olympics, Jesse Owens continued to run professionally and took numerous public speaking engagements.
