Plane in air close to ground, Eberts Field, Lonoke, Lonoke County, Arkansas. The first flight at Eberts Field was made in March 1918, by Major George Hume Peabody, Junior Military Aviator, U.S.A. (Lonoke Democrat, March 28, 1918, page 7, column 4). An article titled "Eberts Field May Be Made Permanent Camp" in the Lonoke Democrat, April 25, 1918, page 1, stated that "the plane now used at Lonoke is the Standard J.R. Pursuit."
