Papers, 1929-1947.

The papers consist of two boxes of materials. Box 1 contains articles and papers relating to Jeremiah Dummer, John Hall, Robert Sanderson, and John Stockwell, as well as notes and papers relating to his book on John Coney. The box also contains a book review and an article about silversmiths, both written by Clarke. Box 2 contains 3 bound volumes. Two of the volumes contain photos and history of ownership of silver in Clarke's collection. The third volume contains miscellaneous correspondence relating to silver, including some of the pieces in the Clarke collection.

John Hull (1624-1683) was a colonial merchant, public servant, mintmaster, and silversmith. He came to America from England as a child, established himself in Boston, and became a wealthy and influential leader in the Massachusetts colony.
