Carte de visite of William A. Sweet, Jr., Bugler, Company I, Third Michigan Cavalry. Sweet, a resident of Calhoun County, Michigan, was 20 years of age when he enlisted as a Private on September 2, 1861, at Marshall, Michigan. The Third Michigan Cavalry was stationed at De Valls Bluff, Prairie County, Arkansas, the winter of 1864-1865. Sweet survived the Civil War.
