Gerletti describes growing up in Sparta, Wisconsin; attending college at La Crosse State Teachers College, later named the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse; teaching at Westby High School; serving in World War II; and attending graduate school at the University of Southern California. He discusses his views on teaching and education and also describes life in California.
