Request to Judge Story to pass on 2 letters (one to Judge Washington and one to Judge Marshall) relating to Sparks' desire to publish a work on George Washington. Sparks further requests Story to use his influence with Judge Bushrod Washington to allow Sparks access to George Washington's personal papers. Sparks agrees that an article on Judge Marshall's work on the Colonies, and, further, on his other legal productions, should be written and suggests that Story should write it.

Jurist, politician, and professor of law Joseph Story (1779-1845) was born in Marblehead, Massachusetts on September 18, 1779.
