The papers are organized with respect to Leeds' ancestry and major activities. There is genealogical information on the Leeds and Maule families, correspondence of Morris Leeds' brother, the naturalist Arthur Newlin Leeds, Morris Leeds' personal correspondence, including that from his student days at Haverford College and with his wife Hadassah M. Leeds, correspondence as member and president of the board of managers of Haverford College, correspondence as from Leeds and Northrup, the scientific instruments firm he headed from l899-1952. Leeds was also member and president of the Board of Education of Philadelphia from 1931-48. There are a number of speeches and studies prepared by Leeds, information on clubs to which he belonged, awards presented to him and miscellaneous papers. The researcher should note that the bulk of papers dealing with Leeds' major concerns is elsewhere. Those papers pertaining to Leeds & Northrup activities are at Eleutherian Mills, Hagley Foundation Library, Greenville, Del.
