Vogel discusses his family background and childhood spent on a farm in Wisconsin. He describes leaving home to work on a farm, attending business college, and working in the auto repair business in the early 1900s. He details his work history and his move to Arcadia, Wisconsin, where he started two auto repair and sales businesses and served as mayor from 1934-1948. He also mentions Arcadia social practices and effects of the Great Depression.
