Guy Owen (1925-1981) received his bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. An author and educator, Owen founded and edited the Southern Poetry Review, edited North Carolina Folklore, and served as Associate Professor of English at North Carolina State University.
