Albert E. Tritt papers, 1886-1985.

The papers of Albert E. Tritt, an Episcopal minister who served in Arctic Village, Venetie, and Chalkyitsik, Alaska, from 1923 to the 1950s, consist of correspondence, lists of individuals living in the three villages in 1955, stories of Natives and their church, notes on Native script, family history, a few photographs, and three journals. Two of the journals are labeled: a "Working Job Book" (1909-1952) and a "Thinking Book" with sketches (1914-1925). The third journal, written in Gwich'in, contains entries dated 1887-1985. The later entries in that volume were written by Albert Tritt's son Isaac, who was also an Episcopal minister.
