Advertising brochures, correspondence, and clippings of a Charlotte publisher, active ca. 1905 to ca. 1922. Includes material by or about Issac Erwin Avery, Henry Edward Cowan Bryant, Daniel Harvey Hill Jr., John Charles McNeill, and several of the firm's lesser-known writers. The collection contains newspaper clippings, advertising brochures, and correspondence. The clippings are primarily reviews of Stone publications, while the correspondence is composed chiefly of business letters from newspaper editors.

Daniel Harvey Hill (1859-1924) was an educator, college president, writer, and historian. He received a B.A., M.A. and Doctor of Literature degree from Davidson College.
