Handwritten manuscript and transcription of a lecture written and delivered by Henry Cruger Van Schaack in 1857, discussing the relationship between Col. John Brown and Benedict Arnold. Van Schaack based his research on papers inherited from his uncle, Loyalist Henry Van Schaack of Pittsfield, Mass., ca. 1794. Also includes a handwritten account of John Brown written by Murray Nelson.
