Certificate of honor for Orbain Jordat, cannonier, for his service. The certificate is on a pre-printed form that begins: Le Marechal duc de Villars, chevalier des ordres du Roy, General de ses armees sur la Moselle ... with the citation for service following in handwritten script. The certificate was awarded during the War of Spanish Succession when Villars was in command of the French army in the Rhine Valley. The cannonier had lost an arm at Blenheim. The certificate is also signed by Moneton.
