Correspondence, 1885-1904.

This small collection contains letters written to Kunz by numerous gem brokers, mineralogists and agents concerning mineral transactions. Transactions include turquoise from Santa Fe, "ore" from Glorieta and "meteorites" from Albuquerque. One letter describes the discovery and offer of sale to Kunz of a mastadon near Taos. In another, Santa Fe turquoise dealer Jhos. Moore, Sr., invites Kunz to ask Maj. Powell, head of the U.S. Geological Survey, about his background. All of the letters are directed to Kunz; there is no return correspondence from him.
