Oral history interview with John Czeiska [sound recording] / interviewed by Howard Fredricks. 1974.

Czeiska discusses his family's emigration and immigration in eastern Europe, where he lived until age 12, when he and his mother immigrated to New York. He recalls life in New York before his family's move to La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he attended high school. He describes dropping out of high school and hitchhiking to California, where he settled in Haight-Ashbury. He details his and his friends' drug use and sexual activity and his eventual dissatisfaction with the lifestyle. He also mentions returning to La Crosse and attending the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse.
