Celeste Inaugural Committee contain correspondence, admission tickets and passes, inaugural program, and inaugural events coordinator's budget and co-director Marjory Pizzuti's inaugural notebook documenting the planning of the inaugural ceremonies on January 10, 1983. Also includes biograpahical material on inaugural entertainers and speakers and two oversize items: an art print of the Ohio State House (OVS 504) and a limited edition commemorative poster issued for the 1983 inauguration (OVS 505).

Richard F. "Dick" Celeste (b. Nov. 11, 1937, Cleveland, OH) was governor of Ohio, diplomat, and politician. He graduated from Yale University (1959) and received a Rhodes Scholarship to study at Exeter College, Oxford University. After, he served as staff liaison in Peace Corps as assistant to Chester Bowles. He was elected to Ohio House of Representatives (1970) and later Lieutenant Governor of Ohio (1974).
