Anna R. Cryder letters received from Hannah Roberts and Kezia Foulke, 1827-1929 (bulk 1845-1871)

This collection consists primarily of typescript copies of letters sent to Anna R. Cryder by Hannah Roberts of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Kezia Foulke of Richland, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The handwritten originals, which date from 1827 and 1845-1871 are not present. The majority of the letters are from Hannah Roberts, and these date from 1851-1871. These typescript copies appear to have been primarily made by Russell Bidlack in 1952 (two letters and some notes from Bidlack are included concerning the transcribing of the originals). The letters focus on friendships, family illnesses, births, and deaths, and life in Philadelphia and some of the surrounding communities. Some of Hannah Roberts letters concern her feelings towards the Civil War and Abraham Lincoln. A lot of her letters focus on her mother Mary, sister Martha, brother George, and other family members. There are also two letters signed H.D. Roberts (possibly Hannah?), one signed S.K. Roberts, and one signed M.L. There is also an August 1871 issue of the sheet-music periodical, Whitney's musical guest, and the 1929 sheet music to the song Hello Margot!
