Brief entries discuss the occupation of Richmond, Va., with a mention of Lincoln's visit; and his postwar army career. He mentions his work on the staff of General Godfrey Wietzel and his acquaintance with General Philip Sheridan. The diary also contains accounts in the back including money paid by Harpers for Langdon's Civil War sketches; a photograph of "The Chaplin House," Beaufort, S. C.; and a Confederate stamp.
