Syracuse china designs, ca.1929.

A portfolio containing 30 watercolor designs for nine inch plates, all on embossed card stock labeled "Designed by Onondaga Pottery Co. makers of Syracuse China." The designs show fox hunting scenes; polo players; a steeplechase scene; flowers; one fruit design; stagecoaches; a covered wagon; an early train; an early bicycle; a domed gazebo; and tavern scenes that are reminiscent of Dickens. Several plates bear a sign reading Red Lion Inn, and on the back of one of them is a note that it was designed for the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. (The plate designs depict English inns, however, not the Red Lion in Stockbridge.) The date June 7, 1929, is stamped on back of one of the plate designs.

31 items : ill. ; 34 cm. and smaller.
