Witter Bynner papers, 1874-1981.

Collection contains correspondence, prose and poetry manuscripts such as The Way of Life According to Laotzu, miscellaneous printed and ephemeral items, and extensive photographs, primarily documenting Bynner's work from 1943 to 1963, and his relationships with fellow authors and publishers. Also well illustrated is Bynner's life in Chapala, Mexico, where he maintained a second residence. The final series consists of papers of Bynner's secretary, Dorothy Chauvenet.
