Oral history interview with Florence Munson [sound recording] / interviewed by Howard Fredricks. 1980 Oct.

Munson discusses family, school, recreation, and daily life in rural Wisconsin. She describes farm life, the one-room schoolhouse she attended, and common diseases. She also details her employment history in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where she worked as a domestic for the Joe Hixon family before working at Ruth Johnson Maurer's cosmetics factory, the Marinello Company. She recounts the unsatisfactory working condition that led her to seek jobs at Auto-Lite and the La Crosse Rubber Mills Company, where she recalls her union membership and activity in the face of strikes and lockouts.
