George Dewey (December 26, 1837 – January 16, 1917) was Admiral of the Navy, the only person in United States history to have attained the rank. Fitzhugh Lee, grandson of Henry "Light-Horse Harry" and nephew of Robert E. Lee was Major General of the Confederate Army. After the war, he wrote about and taught the history of the South during the Civil War and wrote a biography of Robert E. Lee. In 1885-1889, he served as governor of Virginia.
