Walter Taylor papers, 1854-1968 bulk 1959-1968.

Papers relate to Walter Taylor's work for the American Friends Service Committee's American Indian Program and specifically assisting the Seneca Nation of NY state following construction of the Kinzua Dam in Pennsylvania. Included in the papers is correspondence with: American Friends Service Committee, Brooks Atkinson, Bureau of Indian Affairs; Indian Committee for the Kinzua Project of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of Friends including Robert Haines, Theodore Hetzel, Lawrence Lindley, Edith Solenberger and George Vaux; Arthur Lazarus, Arthur Morgan, Archer Taylor, Seneca Nation. In addition, there are minutes, maps, reports, speeches by Taylor and other records relating to the Kinzua Dam project. Taylor also kept a subject file relating to relevant issues including on various Native American tribes, legislation re Seneca Nation finances of Kinzua Dam Project and others.

Arthur Ernest Morgan (1878-1975) is best known for being the first chairman of the Tennessee Valley Authority engineering projects from 1933-1938.
