Contents include: (1) The printer's copy of his essay comparing Hamlet's Seven Soliloquies in Q1 and Q2; (2-3) a transcript of the Funeral Elegy on Richard Burbage with proofs of parts of his essay on the elegy published in Shakespeare the Man and the Book; (4-6) notes on Collier and Ireland, a copy of the catalog, Ireland's Shakespeare forgeries, with Ingleby's notes on the items, and a bibliography of W.H. Ireland; (8) a criticism of Victor Hugo's translation of Macbeth; (12-16) 3 printed letters (2 in duplicate) addressed to the Trustees of Shakespeare's Birthplace, from the Executive Committee, February 6, 1884 and from Halliwell-Phillipps, February 16-22, 1884, concerning the resignation of the Librarian, Bruce Tyndall; and (17-20) miscellaneous articles and newspaper clippings, many on the question of disinterment.
