Ina Coolbrith (1841-1928) was a poet, writer, librarian, and a prominent and beloved figure in the San Francisco Bay Area literary community. Coolbrith contributed articles to the influential magazine, the Overland Monthly, and published her poetry widely. Her literary work led to her friendship with Alfred Tennyson, Samuel Clemens, Bret Harte, Charles Warren Stoddard, Joaquin Miller, and Ansel Adams amongst other influential literary and cultural figures.
